FICCI FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Niyati A Mehta, along with the DNI Vertical of FLO Chennai, is set to host the Able Art Festival, a unique dance-theatre showcase featuring more than 50 artists with differing abilities.Scheduled for December 12 at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai, the festival is directed by Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Founder-Director of RASA – Ramana Sunritya Aalaya.
The Able Art Festival is designed to celebrate inclusion, expression, and creativity by offering a distinguished platform for specially-abled performers trained in Indian dance theatre. As one of RASA’s hallmark initiatives, the festival demonstrates how art can empower individuals, build confidence, foster social connection, and bring communities together through shared cultural experiences.
The performance has been choreographed and coordinated by the experienced team at RASA, an organisation known for its decades-long contribution to arts-based education and therapeutic practices. Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, a pioneer in inclusive education through the arts, continues to create holistic and nurturing environments where movement, music, performance, and emotion become powerful tools of transformation. Under her guidance, artists of various age groups and abilities have found the confidence to take the stage and express themselves meaningfully.
Chairperson Niyati A Mehta, who emphasises 360-degree growth and upskilling not only for FLO members but also for students and the larger community, said the festival reflects FLO’s mission of empowerment, social sensitisation, and accessibility. “By spotlighting artistic talent within diverse communities, the event encourages more organisations and individuals to engage with inclusive arts,” she noted.
The Able Art Festival promises to deliver a poignant, uplifting, and inspiring experience for audiences, offering rich narratives conveyed through movement, theatre, and emotion.
This one-of-its-kind celebration of talent and inclusivity is open to well-wishers, supporters of art-based development, and the general public.
