President Droupadi Murmu today offered darshan at the Sripuram Golden Temple in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu.
On her arrival at the sprawling temple premises, she was accorded a traditional reception by the temple priests. Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi received the President at Sripuram, Thirumalaikodi, Vellore, during her short visit. Senior officials were also present.
After offering darshan and performing aarti, the President was conducted around the temple by the authorities. She spent a few minutes at the temple before leaving the venue.
President Murmu arrived from Mandya in Karnataka. After completing the temple visit, she departed for Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolarum in Secunderabad, where she will spend her winter sojourn.
In view of the President’s visit, police made elaborate security arrangements in Vellore and in and around the temple premises.
