Senior political leader and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss has said that his party’s decision on forming an alliance for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be taken shortly, even as discussions continue with potential partners.
Ramadoss made the remarks during meetings held as part of PMK’s ongoing candidate interview process, which began this week for several districts. The party founder is personally conducting interviews of prospective nominees from constituencies including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli, among others.
Addressing reporters at Thailapuram, Ramadoss said that talks about electoral alliances are underway but no final decision has yet been taken. “We are in discussions, but the alliance decision has not been made yet. It will be taken soon,” he stated, without naming any specific party with which the PMK might align.
