Chennai: Two persons who were getting treatment for Covid-19 died at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai today, sources said.
With this, the death toll in Chennai has reached 30, while it stands at 49 in Tamilnadu.
Meanwhile,43 persons have been tested positive today in Thiruvallur district It is said all of them were linked to the Koyambedu vegetables, fruits and flowers wholesale market.
In Tamilnadu, most numbers of cases were linked to Chennai’s Koyambedu wholesale market, with 669 reported from 19 districts, as the total cases surged to 7,204.
In fact more than 3,000 positive cases were reported in the last six days alone–due to increased testing–when compared to 4,058 cases on 5 May.
