From tomorrow, saloons in urban areas except Chennai can function


Chennai: Tamilnadu government today announced that all saloon shops in city limits in other districts except Chennai can be opened from tomorrow.

In a statement here, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami he said social distancing should be compulsarily followed in the shops.

“Customers or staffs with cold, cough and fever should not be allowed inside the shops. Wearing of masks and using of hand sanitisers should be strictly followed,” he said.

It may be noted that following a Tamilnadu government’s order, barber shops in rural areas were open from Tuesday.

In an official release, Palaniswami had said, barring areas under Greater Chennai Corporation and other municipal corporations, barber shops in rural areas can be reopened.

He said that the shops should be sanitised five times a day and social distancing should be maintained.

The barbers should compulsorily wear gloves and masks and the customers too should wear masks, he said.
