Chennai: New Covid-19 infections have been reported in most districts of Tamilnadu, with 1,608 persons testing positive in 24 hours. The total number of cases has gone up to 26,33,839. The number of active cases stands at 16,473.
During the same duration, 1,512 people recovered from the infection and 22 people succumbed to the deadly virus.
The number of deaths registered was 22 and 1,55,807 samples were tested. Chennai reported 197 (170) cases, while Coimbatore reported 212 (224) new cases, according to State Health department data.
