The foundation stone for the inaugural conference of the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam Party was laid by the party’s General Secretary, Anand. The party, founded by actor Vijay, is set to hold its first state conference in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, on October 27. Police permission has been obtained for the event, which is subject to 17 conditions set by the Villupuram district police.
With an eye on the 2026 Assembly elections, Vijay is stepping away from acting to fully engage in politics. This conference is expected to serve as a significant platform for his political ambitions.
Vijay’s activities have already aligned closely with the policies of Dravidian parties, and he is expected to elaborate on the party’s policies and the features included in the party symbol during this conference. As a result, not only the members of his party but also those from other parties are eagerly anticipating the event.
Vijay has imposed several conditions for attendees, including prohibiting the consumption of alcohol at the conference and ensuring respect towards police and officials.
In this context, a ground-breaking ceremony and ceremonial rituals were held early this morning. During the event, Anand, the General Secretary of the party, conducted special prayers at temples, churches, and mosques, pouring sacred water as part of the rituals, thereby laying the foundation stone for the first conference. Key officials of the party attended this significant occasion, marking an important step in Vijay’s political journey.
