Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has assured that relief and compensation will be provided to the flood-affected areas in the state. Stalin visited the flood-affected areas in Villupuram district and met with the affected people.
The Chief Minister announced that a comprehensive survey will be conducted to assess the damage caused by the floods, and full compensation will be provided to the affected people. He also assured that the state government will take immediate action to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
Stalin stated that 637 fire service personnel have been deployed in the affected areas to assist in the relief efforts. He also announced that 174 relief camps have been set up to provide shelter to the affected people.
The Chief Minister further stated that a detailed report on the damage caused by the floods will be sent to the Central Government, and a request will be made to send a team to assess the damage and provide assistance.
The Tamil Nadu government has also announced that it will provide full compensation to the farmers who have lost their crops due to the floods. The government has estimated that over 1 lakh hectares of crops have been damaged in the floods.
