Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by eight wickets to notch up their first victory of IPL 2025. After restricting KKR to just 116, MI chased down 117 in just 12.5 overs, with Ryan Rickelton smashing a half-century and Suryakumar Yadav slamming a quickfire cameo.
MI handed an IPL debut to 23-year-old pacer Ashwini Kumar, who picked up four wickets on his IPL debut, including dismissing Ajinkya Rahane on his very first ball.
KKR were reduced to 45/5 after seven overs, and couldn’t recover. Mumbai Indians soared up to sixth, while KKR are now rooted to the bottom of the IPL 2025 table.
