Visakhapatnam, Dec 24: India Women continued their dominant form in the ongoing five‑match T20 International series against Sri Lanka Women with a commanding seven‑wicket victory in the second T20I on Tuesday at the ACA‑VDCA Cricket Stadium. With the win, India now holds a 2–0 lead in the series.

After being asked to bowl first, the Indian bowlers restricted Sri Lanka to 128 for 9, with disciplined spells that kept the visitors under pressure throughout their innings. In response, India chased down the target with 49 balls to spare, finishing at 129 for 3 in just 11.5 overs.

Left‑handed opener Shafali Verma was the star for India, scoring an unbeaten 69 to anchor the chase and set up a comfortable victory. She received support from Jemimah Rodrigues, who contributed 26 runs, ensuring there were no late scares for the hosts.

The comprehensive win highlighted India’s strong batting depth and effective bowling performance, underscoring their intent to seal the series as they march toward the remaining encounters.
