The electrifying spirit of Chennai Super Kings fans took centre stage at ROAR’26, a grand celebration that transformed M. A. Chidambaram Stadium into a vibrant hub of passion, music, and cricketing pride. Thousands of loyal “Whistle Podu” supporters gathered to honour the legacy of one of the most celebrated franchises in the Indian Premier League.
The event was a visual spectacle, with fans dressed in the iconic yellow jersey, creating a sea of colour that symbolized unity and unwavering loyalty. ROAR’26 featured an exciting lineup of live music, interactive contests, and exclusive merchandise stalls, offering a carnival-like atmosphere. Adding grandeur to the evening, Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman delivered a captivating live performance, turning the stadium into a dazzling arena of sound and light.
A standout segment of the celebration was the virtual interaction with former players and team insiders, who shared personal stories and behind-the-scenes moments. This interaction deepened the emotional bond between the franchise and its fans, reinforcing the idea that CSK is more than just a cricket team—it is a shared identity.
In a landmark moment, the franchise also unveiled its first-ever Hall of Fame, inducting two of its legendary players—Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden.
Raina, fondly known as “Chinna Thala” among fans, was a cornerstone of CSK from 2008 to 2021. He played a crucial role in four IPL title victories (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021) and was instrumental in securing two Champions League T20 titles in 2010 and 2014. With 5,529 runs, including two centuries and 38 half-centuries, Raina remains the highest run-scorer in the franchise’s history. His stellar performances earned him the Player of the Tournament award in the 2014 Champions League T20.
Matthew Hayden, who represented CSK between 2008 and 2010, was another key figure in the team’s early success. A member of the 2010 IPL-winning squad, Hayden became the franchise’s first Orange Cap winner in 2009, amassing 572 runs that season. He scored a total of 1,117 runs for CSK, including eight half-centuries, leaving a lasting impact during his tenure.
Organisers подчеркнули that ROAR’26 was not merely a fan gathering but a celebration of a deeply rooted community. “CSK is more than a team—it’s an emotion,” a host remarked, echoing the sentiment of thousands present.
The evening concluded with a spectacular light and music finale, leaving fans exhilarated and eagerly anticipating the upcoming IPL season. ROAR’26 once again underscored the unmatched passion and loyalty of CSK supporters, cementing their place among the most devoted fan bases in world sport.
