The Election Commission recently announced that the by-election for Thiruparankundram and Thiruvarur constituencies will not be conducted anytime soon due to the rainy season. While the rain is said to be the reason behind the delay, political observers say that there is more politics involved in stopping this election than conducting it.

With school set to re-open this week, the Arignar Anna Zoological Park aka Vandalur Zoo yesterday had a record breaking 23,610 footfalls.
