A movie based on real-life incident. A sentimental family drama that speaks about divine intrevention in this modern day. Directed by Dinesh Baboo, the movie features Akshay Krishnan, Aishwarya Ullas, Sai Kumar, Shanthi Krishna and Renji Panicker among others.
In a nutshell, Krishnam is Akshay Krishnan’s real life story — of being diagnosed with a rare heart condition and his fight through the disease, emerging victorious. What is novel about the film is that Akshay himself is playing the lead.
It begins with the warmth relationship between Akshay Krishnan and his father Balakrishnan (Sai Kumar), a wealthy businessman. Akshay is a sympathetic teenager and he is dear to all in the college. He is candid with his father than his mother Meera, played by Shanthi Krishna.
Balakrishnan even finds remedies for his son regarding his love affair with his collegemate Radhika (Aiswarya Ullas). Once during a dance competition, Akshay collapses on stage. He is diagnosed of a grave disease. How he overcomes it forms the crux.
Sai Kumar as an ardent devotee of Lord Guruvayoorappa has essayed the character gracefully. Renji Panicker as Dr Sunil opens up the debate of theism and atheism. Shanthi Krishna is poised and elegant. Akshay Krishnan deserves special mention for enacting the role with guts.
He dances well. Aishwarya Ullas was bubbly and cute. What is a major eye sore is Krishnam was dramatic towards the end. And the second half was tedious too.
