Long queues were witnessed at polling booths across Chennai as people gathered in large numbers to exercise their franchise for Lok Sabha polls today. Election Commission had made elaborate arrangements for public to vote hassle-free, including setting up of ramps for differently-abled and first-aid centres.
Gypsies and people from various walks of life, including V G Santhosam, Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammad Abdul Ali, M S Swaminathan, Chief Election Commissioner Satyabrata Sahoo among others voted.
