Chennai: Even as small temples with annual revenue of less than Rs 10,000 outside the Greater Chennai Corporation limits were opened today after the lockdown, Tamilnadu government has announced launching of a television channel to telecast important events at temples across the State.
The channel is titled as Thirukkovil. HR&CE commissioner Panindher Reddy said that the channel is being started at a cost of Rs 8.75 crore.
‘The channel will broadcast temple related stuffs throughout the day. Since content is needed throughout the day all temples can send the video of all important festivals in their temples to the Commissioner’s office,’ he said.
He also listed out the instructions that have to be followed while recording the visuals.
