Chennai: Heavy rain has been predicted in the districts of Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Nilgiris, Vellore, Tirupathur and Ranipet in the next 24 hours.
According to the Cyclone Warning Division of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal is very likely to intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hours.
Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would prevail over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off Odisha-Andhra Pradesh-Tamilnadu and Puducherry coasts & 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over northwest Bay of Bengal today.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into west central, northwest and southwest Bay of Bengal, and along and off Andhra Pradesh-Odisha-Tamilnadu and Puducherry coasts on 11 and 12 October 2020 and over Gulf of Mannar during 11-13 October.
