Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that his government is considering a law to curb ‘love jihad’.
Madhya Pradesh is the third BJP-ruled State after Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to mull such a law.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his Haryana counterpart ML Khattar had made similar announcements. There will be no jihad in the name of love, whoever does such an act will be set right. Legal arrangements will be made for this, Chouhan told reporters.
The CM reiterated that no demonstrations without prior permission will be allowed against the issue of alleged anti-Islamic stand of French government in the State.
“There was one such demonstration. Action was taken. I am issuing a warning to such elements that if anything untoward is tried in the island of peace Madhya Pradesh, it won’t be taken leniently,” Chouhan said.
