Chennai: Even as the news of Kamala Harris, who has her roots in Tamilnadu, being elected as the Vice President of the United States sending waves of happiness across the State, here comes an information about a Tamil family reaching out to a hospital in the US.
Indian Hajj Association president Abubacker’s family members are living in the US for many years and they have donated Rs 2.25 crore to Rush Hospital in Chicago.
According to a statement from the family, a cheque for the above amount was presented to the hospital authorities by Abubacker’s father Janab Arif. Other members of the family were present.
Hospital authorities have thanked the family for their contribution towards the treatment of patients from poor economic background.
