Chennai: After actor Kangana Ranaut put up a ‘derogatory’ tweet against the aged mother of a protesting farmer, several organisations and parties have sent legal notices, asking her to apologise.
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’s (DSGMC) chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, the actor should give an ‘unconditional apology’ within a week. “Her tweets portray farmers protest as anti-national”, Sirsa tweeted.
A Punjab-based lawyer, Harkam Singh, too sent a legal notice.”It is to inform you that the said lady is not a fake lady. Her name is Mahinder Kaur and she belongs to Bathinda. She is the wife of farmer Labh Singh Nambardar…” Mr Singh said in the notice.
Similarly, Punjab-based party Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, has also sought action against Kangana.
The actor who has deleted her controversial tweet, has reacted to all the cases piling up on her.
“Film mafia filed many cases on me, last night Javed Akhtar filed one more, Maharashtra government filing one case every hour now congress in Punjab is also joined the gang…. Lagta hai mujhe mahan banake he dum lenge (I think they will take a break only after making me great.) Thank you,” Kangana Ranaut tweeted from her verified account on Friday.
