Oru Pakka Kathai in ZEE5 from 25 Dec

Speaking about the movie, Balaji Tharanitharan, says, ‘Oru Pakka Kathai is all about, when an out of the normal situation manifests into a common man’s life, how the world around perceives it and thereby reacting to it, which leads to a string of interesting consequences.’

‘I saw Kalidas in a public event where he performed mimicry. Immediately decided that he will be apt to play the lead role in my movie. And Parthiban’s daughter suggested me to audition Mega, who was her junior i n college, for heroine’s role’.

Both have done wonderful job. They are bundle of talent, he adds.

A major portion of the movie was shot in Chennai and we canned few scenes in Kumbakonam, he says and adds, ‘The movie would be engaging and entertaining’.

Premkumar C has handled cinematography and Govind Vasantha has composed music for the movie.

Oru Pakka Kathai will focus on the love story between a young couple. When the girl gets pregnant, they encounter a medical complication, which will change the dynamics of their relationship. Oru Pakka Kathai ran into several issues during production because of which it got delayed. Also, the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued a U/A certificate for the film because the makers had used the word ‘intercourse.’

Later, the team of Oru Pakka Kathai challenged the CBFC’s decision and approached the revising committee to look into the issue. After the film’s screening, the revising committee decided to issue an ‘U’ certificate to Oru Pakka Kathai.
