Mayathirai is a horror thriller that will engage all sections of audience, says debutant director Sampath Kumar.
Speaking to media persons, Sam path Kumar, who worked with Bala and Ezhil before, says, ‘ Who said ghosts and spirita always take revenge? Maayathirai is about a good ghost that even makes a big sacrifice’.
As the title suggests, the movie speaks about devils with theatre as its background. Ashok of Pidichurukku and Muruga fame plays the hero. Tolet actress Sheela Rajkumar is the heroine. Chandni Thamizharasan is also in the cast.The movie will be focusing on kula dheivam and siru dheivam worshipping rituals, he adds.
Sandi Veeran and Goli Soda fame SN Arunagiri is composing the music for this film. One song has been composed by SS Thaman.
A costumer V Saibabu, who worked with almost all artistes including Rajinikanth, Khushboo, Suhasini Maniratnam among others is producing the film. He had earlier bankrolled the Kushboo-starrer Thaali Pudhusu. He said, ‘It is a movie with a different storyline and heaped laurels on the whole crew’.
