Chennai: AMMK today released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Candidates’ names for 15 constituencies were announced by the party’s general secretary T T V Dinakaran.
Former MLAs P Palaniappan, M Rengasamy, G Senthamizhan, C Shanmugavelu, and NG Parthiban are among prominent candidates on the list.
It may be noted that on Monday, AMMK announced an alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM for the Assembly elections. AIMIM will contest in three Assembly constituencies including Vaniyambadi, Krishnagiri, and Sankarapuram.
The Assembly elections for 234 assembly seats in Tamilnadu will be conducted in one phase on 6 April. The counting of votes is slated for 2 May.
