
Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Secretary Rajeev Ranjan today held a meeting with religious leaders about effective implementation of the coronavirus control measures in religious places.
Sources said that timing of temples, standard operating procedures to be followed during functions and other things were discussed during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the State government said that board exams will be conducted for 10th standard students.
“Those who want to improve their marks can take up the test. Rest will be passed with minimum marks,” State Education department said.
It may be noted that the State government has banned religious events in the newly announced lockdown.
The government said that in case of pre-planned events for which permission has been sought, they can be conducted with maximum of 50 persons, temple staff.
The order said that permission will not be granted for any new temple festivals until further notice.
