Live life like there is no tomorrow. This forms the crux of Vaazhl, produced by Sivakarthikeyan’s SK Productions and directed by Aruvi fame Arun Prabhu Purushothaman.
It is out on SonyLIV. A travel film, it features Pradeep in the lead role. TJ Bhanu, Diva Dhawan, and Aahrav essay the other pivotal roles in Vaazhl.
Prakash (Pradeep) is an IT employee works in a 9 to 6 job and is confused about relationships.
He leads a life without purpose with a nagging girl friend and troubles at home. At a funeral, he meets Yatramma (Bhanu), a distant cousin, who he develops feelings for. Also there is this hyper but charming son of Yaatraamma Yatra (Aarhav). The relationship between the three and a compelling road journey taken out by them brings a sea change in Prakash’s life.
Pradeep and Aahrav are scene-stealer. The bonding between the two are brought well. Bhanu is a welcome addition on screen. But the real hero of the movie is Shelley Calist. The visuals are breathtakingly beautiful.
It is an abstract and bold attempt by filmmaker. Though the characters narrating story in Vaazhi reminds one of Aruvi, there are moments that engages audience. The existential crisis in lives of individuals are narrated well. A journey would unwind one of all problems. Never think of tomorrow. Live your life today forms the crux.
Vaazh cannot be branded as one particular genre film. It has thrilling moments, murder mystery angle, comedy, travelogue and human emotions combined together. A lengthy second half was eyesore.Else Vaazhl is for those who love different cinema.
