Accepting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s invitation, 17 fencers (10 male and 5 female) along with 2 coaches from Manipur arrived at Chennai on Friday and began their training for the upcoming national games. Tamil Nadu government has provided them free air travel, and accommodation. State Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Friday visited them at the Sports Development Sports Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) facility in Chennai where they are continuing their training and also interacted with the players. Accommodation facilities for them have been arranged. Today we met and talked to players who are training at the Nehru Indoor Sports Arena. We inquired about the training and facilities provided to them. We also cheered them on during their practice game, Udhayanidhi Stalin posted on social media platform X.
