The Dr. M S Swaminathan Award for Environment Protection was held at the Taj Connemara. The Awardee this year is Vijay Kumar Thallam IAS (Retd), who is the Executive Vice Chairman Rythu Sadhikara Samstha and advisor on Agriculture to Govt of Andhra Pradesh. Awardee, Vijay Kumar spoke on Zero Budget Natural Farming wherein farming can be done without using fertilizers and pesticides. Chairperson of M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Sowmya Swaminathan spoke on current challenges on climate change, and post COVID effect on health. Lok Sabha MP, Kanimozhi spoke on the adverse effect of climate on the underprivileged and the effect of chemicals on humans in the food chain. RCME President Babu Krishnamoorthy welcomed the award-winning chief guest Guest of honour and the gathering.
