Kamal’s appeal to CM

In a heartfelt appeal, renowned actor and President of Makkal Needi Maiam, Kamal Haasan, has called upon Chief Minister M K Stalin to extend a helping hand to Manipur students who have been affected by violence, allowing them to pursue their education in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the valedictory event of Ovations ’23 at Loyola College, Haasan commended the efforts of Sports and Youth Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in providing facilities for Manipur’s sportspersons and athletes affected by ethnic strife. He emphasized the need for similar support in the realm of education.
He praised the Kerala government, led by Pinarayi Vijayan, for their proactive stance in accommodating Manipur students for their education. Drawing a parallel with the “Dravidian model” of governance in Tamil Nadu, he expressed the belief that such a humanitarian initiative would be in line with the state’s ethos.
Addressing the students of Loyola College, Haasan applauded the institution’s decision to admit Manipur students who had been adversely affected by violence. He urged other colleges across the state to follow Loyola’s lead and extend educational opportunities to Manipur students.
