Crowds swarm Koyambedu bus stand for Deepavali

As the festive season of Deepavali approaches, the Koyambedu bus stand in Chennai witnessed a massive influx of people yesterday, eager to travel to their native places to celebrate the festival with their families. The bustling scene painted a picture of excitement and anticipation, with the bus stand flooded with passengers preparing for their journeys.
The surge in travelers prompted the deployment of a substantial number of police personnel at the Koyambedu bus stand to maintain order and ensure the safety of the large gathering.
Reports indicate that as many as 250 police personnel were stationed at the bus stand, actively monitoring the situation.
The security measures included the use of sniffer dogs, adding an extra layer of vigilance to the efforts in place.
The surge in people leaving Chennai for their native places led to crowded buses, trains, and other modes of transportation since yesterday. Recognizing the potential risks associated with such gatherings, passengers have appealed to the police for protection against criminal activities.
