Aavin’s online milk card service faces criticism over lack of pause option

Aavin’s recent introduction of an online purchase system for milk cards has garnered significant attention from customers. However, the new system has faced backlash due to the unavailability of an option to pause milk delivery during periods of customer absence, leading to dissatisfaction among Chennai residents.

Previously, Aavin would halt milk delivery if customers were unavailable, and the cost of undelivered milk would be deducted, requiring customers to pay only the remaining amount. This system allowed for flexibility and ensured that customers did not pay for milk they did not receive. The new online system lacks this feature, causing frustration among users who find it inconvenient.

In response to the issue, Aavin has advised customers to seek assistance from their milk delivery agents. This solution has not been well received, as it places the responsibility on the customers to manage delivery pauses manually. S.A. Ponnuswamy of the Milk Dealers Welfare Association pointed out that even during the offline era, pausing delivery often depended on the cooperation of the milk agents.

There is some relief on the horizon, as Aavin’s Managing Director, S. Vineeth, announced that rescheduling options would soon be available for customers. This forthcoming feature aims to address the current shortcomings and restore the convenience previously offered by Aavin’s delivery system.
