Anna University out with course on Yoga


Anna University has introduced a new course titled “Yoga for Human Excellence,” aimed at enhancing physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being through the practice of Yoga. The university has partnered with WCSC Vethathiri Maharishi College of Yoga to conduct this course.
The four-month program is designed to cover various modules, including physical health, life force strengthening, and mental wellness. It will be delivered in both English and Tamil, making it accessible to a broader range of students. The course targets individuals who have completed class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized board.
The course structure includes 45 hours of online learning and 55 hours of blended web-based instruction. The content is organized into a modular format through virtual education, offering participants opportunities for self-study and face-to-face practical training sessions.
The course covers key areas:
Physical Health: Techniques and practices to enhance physical well-being.
Life Force Strengthening: Methods to boost vital energy and overall health.
Mental Wellness: Strategies for improving mental health and emotional balance.
Participants will be evaluated through a combination of assessments, including a model test and two internal assessments. The evaluation criteria consist of a case study or quiz worth 40 marks and multiple-choice questions/short answers worth 60 marks. To successfully complete the course, participants must achieve a minimum of 50% in total marks. Certificates will be awarded to those who meet this criterion.
