Much-delayed Andhagan set for August release


The long-awaited Tamil remake of the 2018 hit film “Andhadhun,” titled “Andhagan,” is now slated for an August release, the makers announced on Thursday. The original film starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu in lead roles, while the remake features Prashanth and Simran.
“Andhagan” will see Priya Anand taking on the role originally played by Radhika Apte in “Andhadhun.” The film is directed by Prashanth’s father, Thiagarajan, and produced by Staar Movies. The cast also includes Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, and Vanitha Vijayakumar, among others.
The technical crew comprises cinematographer Ravi Yadav, editor Sathish Suriya, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan.
“Andhadhun” has already been successfully remade in other languages. The Telugu version, “Maestro,” starred Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh. The Malayalam version, “Bhramam,” featured Prithviraj Sukumaran as the lead.
