Sasikala criticises DMK govt for delaying Kodanad case probe

Expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, once a close aide to the late AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, has voiced strong criticism against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin for allegedly stalling the investigation into the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case. Sasikala accused Stalin of failing to uphold his election campaign promise to resolve the case within three months.
Sasikala expressed her dissatisfaction with CM Stalin’s recent statements regarding the case, interpreting them as an indication that the investigation might extend for decades. She specifically referred to Stalin’s suggestion that Interpol might be involved in the probe due to the suspects’ alleged foreign connections during the time of the crime.
On the topic of reuniting the AIADMK, Sasikala asserted that 90% of the work towards revitalizing the party and restoring its former glory is in progress. She hinted at launching a statewide campaign soon to further this objective.
In her remarks, Sasikala also took a jab at Leader of Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami for boycotting assembly sessions. She argued that Palaniswami should have used the sessions constructively to challenge the ruling party and expose its anti-people activities.
Additionally, Sasikala ridiculed political parties that previously criticized the late AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa but are now using her images to garner votes.
Earlier in the day, Sasikala held a meeting with her supporters at her Poes Garden residence, named after the former CM Jayalalithaa. This meeting was her second such gathering with supporters, particularly from southern Tamil Nadu, following a similar assembly on June 15.
