Annamalai stated that the DMK government came to power by making empty promises and deceiving the poor, but after coming to power, it showed no interest in fulfilling its election commitments. He pointed out that both the Chief Minister and ministers had given vague responses regarding the implementation of these promises.
He further highlighted the problems faced by the public during the DMK’s rule, including law and order issues, an increase in drug trafficking, and rising crimes against women and marginalized communities.
During the last Assembly elections, Chief Minister Stalin had promised to waive agricultural loans immediately after coming to power. However, four years into the DMK rule, no action has been taken to waive off crop loans, betraying the farmers who had trusted the government’s word.
Annamalai demanded that the government set up a special committee to look into ways to waive off loans for small and marginal farmers. He also emphasized that the youth who had been deceived by the DMK’s promise of education loan waivers should not face the same fate as farmers.
In conclusion, Annamalai urged the DMK government to immediately fulfill its promises to both farmers and students.
