Palani, Sept 13: The administration of the Palani Murugan Temple has successfully reclaimed land worth about ₹100 crore belonging to the Thandapani Swamigal Mutt after nearly 60 years. The land, measuring 1.40 acres, is located between Palani Andavan Park Road and Sannidhi Street in Dindigul district. For decades, the site had remained covered with bushes and shrubs.
Following a legal battle in the Palani sub-court, the property was officially restored to the mutt. Acting on the court’s order, the land was cleared and taken into possession on Thursday under the supervision of Temple Joint Commissioner Marimuthu.
Temple authorities said this marks the recovery of valuable land after six decades. They also warned that legal action will be taken against any trespassers attempting to encroach upon the property in the future.
