The Chennai Marina Swimming Pool has reopened to the public following a significant renovation project undertaken by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). The facility was closed in July 2025 to allow for modernization and infrastructure improvements worth ₹2.5 crore.The renovation includes a state-of-the-art water purification system, a dedicated ramp for differently-abled persons, modern restroom and toilet facilities, and enhanced safety measures throughout the pool area.
According to the GCC, all restoration and modernization works have been completed, making the pool safer, more hygienic, and more inclusive for all visitors. Residents and swimming enthusiasts can now enjoy the revamped facility, which combines modern amenities with accessibility and improved overall infrastructure.
The reopening marks an important step in promoting public recreation and wellness while ensuring facilities meet contemporary standards for safety and inclusivity.
