Washington, Dec 16: US President Donald Trump says a peace deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war is closer than ever, after recent talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders. Trump told reporters that he had “very good talks” and believes the world is nearer to a peace agreement than before.The discussions took place in Berlin, where leaders agreed to push for stronger security guarantees for Ukraine that could help secure peace. European countries also talked about forming a multinational force to support any future deal.
However, differences remain on key issues, especially about territory that Russia occupies in Ukraine. Zelensky said progress is being made, but some disagreements still exist.
