Major Reshuffle in Tamil Nadu Police; Over 50 Officers Transferred

In a major reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu Home Department transferred and promoted more than 50 police officers across the state.
Maheshwar Dayal, Director General of Prisons, has been posted as ADGP, Law and Order, replacing Davidson Devasirvatham, who is now DGP, Armed Police. Senior officers Sandeep Mittal and Bala Naga Devi have been promoted as DGPs and will continue heading their current wings, Cyber Crime and Economic Offences respectively.
TS Anbu has been promoted as ADGP, CB-CID. Prem Anand Sinha, earlier IGP (South Zone), will now serve as Commissioner of Police, Avadi, while Vijayendra Bidari becomes IGP, South Zone.
Former Tambaram Commissioner A Amalraj returns to head Tambaram City Police and Abhin Dinesh Modak takes charge of Enforcement Bureau CID.
Changes have also been made in Coimbatore and Tirunelveli. N Manivannan becomes Commissioner of Tirunelveli City, while N Kannan will now head Coimbatore City Police. Several other senior officers, including Deepak M Damor, T Senthil Kumar, Anisa Husain, Najmul Hoda and Mahendra Kumar Rathod, have been promoted as ADGPs.
Three DIGs — V Ramya Bharati, R Ponni and Sonal Chandra — have been promoted as IGPs, while 15 SP-rank officers have moved up to the rank of DIG.
The large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administration and improving law and order across Tamil Nadu.
