The Tamil Nadu BJP has accused a private firm of orchestrating a massive ₹2,500 crore real estate fraud in Chennai’s Korattur area, claiming a company built 2,036 houses on land that rightfully belongs to a local temple, deceiving around 10,000 people. Party spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy said on social media that the developer, Urban Rise, concealed the fact that the land was temple property and urged authorities to arrest the company’s owners and launch a full investigation. Thirupathy also criticised banks and government departments for allegedly approving loans and processing documents without properly verifying land titles, and questioned the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department’s role in safeguarding temple assets. The BJP demanded a thorough probe, accountability for officials involved, and compensation for affected buyers. @@@@
