M. K. Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated development projects worth ₹179 crore under the North Chennai Development Plan in Chennai.
As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister opened a 700-tenement housing complex constructed at a cost of ₹133 crore on Thanneer Thotti Street. The project, developed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), aims to provide improved living facilities for residents in the area.
The residential complex consists of two blocks with ground plus nine floors and includes amenities such as lifts, two-wheeler parking, water storage facilities and other essential infrastructure. Officials said 35 housing units have been reserved for persons with disabilities.
The North Chennai Development Plan focuses on strengthening infrastructure, improving housing facilities and enhancing the quality of life for residents in the northern parts of the city. Several other infrastructure and welfare projects are also being implemented under the scheme.
