Chennai: Jolly Rovers’ captain M Kaushik Gandhi claimed his maiden five-wicket haul as his team defeated MCC by eight wickets in the VA Parthasarathy memorial trophy on Tuesday. Kaushik returned impressive figures of five for 44 to restrict MCC to 205. Rovers reached the target with more than five overs remaining.

MRC ‘A’ 185/6 in 23 overs (NS Chaturved 75, V Yo Mahesh 3/34) bt Grand Slam 169/7 in 23 overs (R Rohith 67*, B Rahul 4/28). Points: MRC 4 (18); Grand Slam 0 (12).

MCC 205 in 49.4 overs (Akshat V Srinivasan 59, M Kaushik Gandhi 5/44) lost to Jolly Rovers 206/2 in 44.3 overs (M Kaushik Gandhi 80, B Anirudh Sitaram 93*). Jolly Rovers 4 (20).

Young Stars 207/8 in 30 overs (GK Shyam 41, Rahul Tripathi 40, R Sathyanarayan 47, D Rahul 3/36) bt TI Cycles 136/7 in 30 overs (S Swaminathan 3/25). Young Stars 4 (14); TI Cycles 0 (4).
