Chennai: A Koti Japa Yagna is on at the Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam in Walajapet, Vellore district. According to a note from the founder of the peedam, which is a temple dedicated to the God of Medicine, Danvantri, Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, the yagna began 19 July and will conclude 28 October.
The yagna, which will run for 100 days, is being conducted for the welfare of the world, good health, freedom from diseases and accumulation of wealth.
“The yagam will help prolong the life of the devotee of Danvantri. Moreover, it will help control the mind and desires. Those who participate in the yagna will be free from illnesses related to nerves and the brain and be rid of mental and physical problems,” adds the swamigal.

Those who wish to participate in the yagam can contribute flowers, fruits, herbs, pooja items, provisions for annadhanam, vastram, ghee, honey and abhisheka items, says the note.
