Chennai: A youngster lost his life in a road mishap on GNT Road, Puzhal in the wee hours of today.

According to the police, Sabari Sivamani (22) worked as a software engineer for a private firm. He was returning home after night shift on his two-wheeler when he rammed against a container lorry at GNT Road.

Police said, the lorry was carrying heavy machinery from Rajasthan and transporting it to Redhills.

The driver applied brake all of a sudden which caused the two-wheeler to hit against it from behind, it is said. Sabari suffered injuries to his chest and head. He died on the spot. The accident took place at 3.30 am.

Police sent his body to Government Stanley Hospital for post mortem. Madhavaram Traffic Investigation has registered a case. The lorry driver is said to be absconding.
