Members of Sri Sarvamangala Nagar Residents’ Association and residents of Chitlapakkam sent relief materials worth more than Rs 50,000 to the delta regions affected by Cyclone Gaja.
A press release said executive committee member of the association S Rajan along with a team visited the affected areas in an around Ponnerai, Alathampadi, Vallam to distribute essential relief materials such as bed sheets, lungies, sarees, nighties, torch lights, rice bags, grocery items, milk powder, biscuits and water bottles.
The team also cooked food at certain remote places and supplied it to the people there. Association secretary M Ravi thanked all who liberally contributed for the cause.
