Chennai: In yet another outreach programme of the DMK, its president M K Stalin today began the gram sabha movement of the party at Pulivalam, Tiruvarur district.
Seated cross-legged on a mound of earth, thoughtfully covered by a jamakalam, Stalin gave the rousing call to his cadres: ‘Selvom, Solvom, Velvom’ (We will go, we will tell and we will win) in this election year.
Stalin said the State was beset with problems and it would be best to start tackling them from the grassroots-level of the village.
The DMK president toured Tamilnadu before the State elections in 2016, called the ‘Namakku Naame Vidiyal Meetpu Payanam’ programme. He touched the lives of ordinary folks on the roads and pictures of his sipping tea at tea stalls are still recalled.
Recently, it was actor-politician Kamal Haasan who stressed on holding gram sabha meetings organised by his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam.
