Chennai: Ajith-starrer Viswasam was released today and is enjoyed by several fans, but the release of the movie also led to several mishaps, including a son setting his father on fire.

FIRED UP

Ajithkumar, son of Pandiyan from Katpadi in Vellore district, is said to be a diehard fan of actor Ajith Kumar. He is said to have the habit of watching all Ajith movies on the first day. However, this time, his father refused to give him money following which his son Ajithkumar poured petrol on Pandiyan while he was asleep and set him on fire. Hearing the screams of Pandiyan, his neighbours rescued him and admitted him to a hospital.

BIG FALL

Five fans were injured when a cutout of Ajithkumar fell at a theatre in Thirukovilur, Villupuram district. All five of them have been admitted to hospital for treatment. The cutout fell when fans climbed on to it to do milk abhishekam.

SEAT FIGHT

In an another incident in Vellore, fans had a fight over occupying a seat in a theatre in the locality. Prashanth and his uncle Ramesh were stabbed during the quarrel and the injured have been hospitalised.

PRICE PROTEST

Ajith fans who indulged in a protest outside a theatre in Medavakkam against the high ticket price were lathi-charged by the police. They dispersed only after that.

‘SPECIAL’ CLASH

Early in the morning, there was a clash between Rajini fans and Ajith fans in a theater near Koyambedu in Chennai. It is said Ajith fans were angry that Viswasam did not get a special morning show, following which they tried to tear up Petta banners. This reportedly led to a quarrel between the two fans groups. It took police intervention to prevent it from escalating into a fight.
