Kolkata: Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar was questioned by the CBI officials in Shillong today in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chit-fund scam.
The Supreme Court had earlier this week directed Kumar to appear before the CBI and ‘faithfully’ cooperate into the investigation of cases related to the Saradha chit-fund scam, but made it clear he will not be arrested.
Earlier this week, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee staged a dharna against the CBI action.
