Chennai: The list of candidates, who will contest in the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections on behalf of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), will be announced by the party president Kamal Haasan on 20 March.
The candidate selection committee of MNM interviewed Lok Sabha election aspirants last week. Party vice-president Dr R Mahendran led the committee. A total of 1,137 aspirants submitted their application forms. Kamal Haasan supervised the interview. The shortlisted candidates would contest in ‘battery torch’ symbol allotted to MNM by the Election Commission.
