AIADMK coordinator Panneerselvam announcing the release of the party’s manifesto.

Chennai: AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today unveiled the party’s manifesto for the 2019 general elections. The party is facing the polls in the alliance of the BJP, PMK, TMC and other parties.

One of the major points raised by the party in the manifseto is providing reservation in private companies also.

The party has come up with a host of promises for the student voters. Like the DMK manifesto, the AIADMK manifesto also promises to take steps to bring education back in the State List in the Constitution.

The State government would pressurise the Central government to scrap NEET, the pan-India entrance test for medical admission that saw great opposition in Tamilnadu.

The amount paid under direct benefit transfer for those living below the poverty line would be hiked to Rs 1,500.

The party would urge the Central government and the President of India to order the release of the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, says the manifesto.

Steps would be taken with the Centre to declare the delta region as a protected agricultural zone.

Panneerselvam said they support Statehood for the Union Territory of Puducherry and would work for it.
