Excerpts from his interview:
Q: Tell us about yourself.
A: I am currently working as a gym trainer in Chrompet. I train people to stay fit and healthy. I chose this field, after quitting my job in a logistics company.

Q: When did you get interested in fitness?
A: After completing my schooling, I had no idea how to spend my holidays. My parents suggested join a gym. My trainer Manoj taught me the basics well, after which I got interested in body-building and started doing workouts.
In 2017, I took part in a District-level body-builder event, where I won the title, ‘Mr Kancheepuram’, for the first time.

Q: What’s your next plan?
A: I am getting ready for Muscle Mania 2019. It is an international event scheduled to take place in Singapore at the end of the year. Winning the event would make me a global name. My main aim is to bag Mr India and Mr World titles.

Q: Do you feel any changes after taking to gymming?
A: After exercising, I feel far more fitter, both mentally and physically. It has also enhanced my confidence levels.

Q: What kind of problems have you faced?
A: Money is an issue every time. Currently, I am managing with the help of sponsors and friends.
It costs me roughly around Rs 20,000 every month to buy health supplements. More funding would be helpful.

Q: How supportive are your parents?
A: My parents and friends: Ramesh, Joseph, Amirta and Koteeshwaran, have been constantly supporting me all through.
