There are reports that Shah Rukh Khan has evinced interest to play hero in the Bollywood remake of Atlee’s Mersal which had Thalapathy Vijay in the lead.Speculations are rife that Atlee himself will be directing the film. However, sources close to Mersal team have said they do not know of any such developments.
But the latest grapevine is that Shah Rukh Khan has seen Atlee’s works and is impressed with the young director’s track record of churning out blockbuster commercial entertainers.
Remember, the duo was seen together in the recent KKR vs CSK encounter at Chepauk and Atlee, to everyone’s surprise, was sitting with Shah Rukh Khan in the KKR camp.
Atlee is currently busy shooting for his upcoming sports project with Vijay. The director was also supposed to do a Telugu film with NTR but it got postponed as the actor was suddenly approached to play the lead role in Rajamouli’s RRR. So the director would be free for projects after wrapping up Vijay’s sports film.
